Couldn't think of any other team names :P  Hydra is a noun form of the word Dragon in Latin.

THIS IS JUST A GIANT PLACEHOLDER FOR NOW!!!

General Gaming / Shout Out for a Pokemon Online Server
« on: July 21, 2011, 04:54:01 pm »
Gotta give a shout out to PokeRealm, one of my favorite servers for Pokemon Online.  It's a really great that has an NFE tier system in the works, great people, and just an overall awesome place to hang out.  If anyone wants to find or battle me, the first place you should check is PokeRealm, because there's a 90% chance that's where I'll be  ;D

PlayStation's Newest Handheld
By:  FenrirXIV
7/21/2011

Sony has brought us another handheld gaming system: the PlayStation Vita. The Vita includes two cameras, two multi-touch surfaces, two analog sticks, and a five inch (130mm) OLED screen. Internally, it comes with a 4 core ARM Cortex-A9 core processor and a 4 core SGX543MP4+ graphics processing unit, along with LiveArea as its main interface, which has succeeded XrossMediaBar. It will have IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, 3g, and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR connectivity. Sounds expensive, right? Wrong! The Vita comes in two versions: the WiFi version and the 3G/WiFi version. The WiFi Only version will cost $249.99, the same opening price as a Nintendo 3DS, while the 3G will start at a price of $299.99. Pretty impressive price for something this technologic, eh?
Now you must be wondering, "What games will there be for it?" For a start, the famous and ever-adorable sackboy from the LittleBigPlanet series will be making yet another appearance with the release of the PlayStation Vita. Unfortunately, this LBP won't have any cross-compatibility with any of the other games, but there are a few surprises still up its sleeve. The movement in the game is completely touch screen. Moving between the fore and background in the game requires you to touch the top or bottom of the screen, depending on which ground you want to go to. Also, moving across the screen is as simple as dragging a finger to draw a path. Other games that will be coming out are Dragon's Crown, Mortal Kombat, Rayman Origins, Street Fighter X Tekken, and much, much more!
With the PS Vita, you can say good-bye to all of your UMDs, as the Vita will only accept NVG Cards, new flash card formats that have somewhat the same look as the Nintendo 3DS Game Cards. Vita game cards will be offered in two sizes at first: 2 GB and 4 GB, with five to ten percent of the writeable space saved for specific objects like save data and patches. Game cards with more memory will be made available later in the future.
So, with all the awesome new stuff, there's got to be some sort of downside, right? Well, if you're with AT&T, then you shouldn't have any problems buying the $300 3G Vita. Sony has decided to partner up with AT&T for its 3G accessability, which means that if you want a 3G Vita, you'd might want to have AT&T as well. This is only a problem if you want to have 3G (I, myself, am completely fine with WiFi Only, considering it's free online gaming). On a personal note, I'm not sure if AT&T will even be charging for its 3G, so please don't ask me about it later...

"Top 5 Things You Should Know About the Editors"
7/20/2011

Brandon/GuildedBlood

1)  I IZ

"I am a straight sixteen forever alone year old male who enjoys Pokemon, (perhaps a little more than others; probably in the category of an obsession even if I don't think of it that way.)  I love pokemon games, pokemon music, pokemon remixes, pokemon hacks and I recently even got into the trading card game after I found a working ROM on the internet.  Ironically, I'm an athletic nerd who's just trapped in the past and plays the game of Life daily."

2)  POGEYMANZ

"My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Blue version, but I grew up on Gold and Silver.  Johto is my second favorite region, recently topped by the Unova region.  I own at least one game for every generation of Pokemon, so you may have guessed that I am a devoted fan.  My least favorite region is Sinnoh, but it is not far off.  My least favorite main series game is Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.  I felt like the formula was getting stale at that point and the new game didn't add enough substance to the Pokemon formula in general.  While I do appreciate what it did for the metagame, as far as connecting everyone together and adding evolutions to some pokemon to make them seem less crappy, it wasn't my favorite slice of pie.  My favorite Pokemon is Scrafty, who single-handedly helped me win the Elite Four in my first run of Pokemon Black.  He's a bro through and through, and not too bad at the metagame, either."

3)  What I Do

"I am an avid tennis player.  I think of myself as somewhat decent PRETTY DAMN AWESOME.  I mean, I helped lead my team to a GROUP FOUR SECTIONAL trophy in South NJ, so yeah, nbd.  I don't do much else except play Pokemon/other video games, play tennis and go on the computer.  I recently got into Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, so you may see some of my works every once in a while, if I decide to go do something Pokemon related.  But, my greatest achievement has been my streams which you will all get to watch as I do various Pokemon related nuzlocke runs and play hacks for all to see."

4)  Time to Make Myself Look Good

"In case you have not guessed already, I'm not exactly the most modest guy.  I will rub it in peoples' faces when they mess up or if I defeat them, although I usually do the exact same things.  Some may call it obnoxious and immature, but I guess that's because I'm a bit of a dick and still haven't really grown up.  I see it as all in good fun.  I don't really give a rat's ass about what anyone else has to say (unless they call me a **** which really makes me cry.  No, but seriously, **** off).  I used to be more immature if that was ever possible, but now I'm more of a teen that wants to be a kid instead of a twelve year old **** who is just a twelve year old ****."

5)  Gaemz

"Besides Pokemon, I play LoZ avidly, anything by Valve is pretty much a given, Mario, Kirby, Dead Space, GoW, Halo, CoD and Donkey Kong.  Because there haven't been that many great FPS's lately, I've diverted most of my attention back to Pokemon and games that I haven't played for older systems.  Portal 2 has been a great play, and I just completed Kirby's Epic Yarn and Donkey Kong Country returns.  I'm looking forward to Gears of War 3 and Duke Nukem, which I will play the **** out of.  Halo 3 is still one of my all time favorite games, if that means anything, but I mostly just play ROMs off the computer, Pokemon, and Patapon (**** YEAR)."

5)  Other Names I'm Known By

"The name's FenrirXIV, Fenrir for short, and Fen for shorter, and I'm one of the co-founders of DMA.  Some other names you might see me go by are Nanaki, NanakiXIV, Gekigami, GekigamiXIV, Omega, and OmegaXIV."

4)  The Games I Play

Some of the games that I play are:

PS3

     - Call of Duty (Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops)
     - Battlefield:  Bad Company 2
     - LittleBigPlanet
     - Metal Gear Solid 4
     - Mirror's Edge
     - God of War 3

DS

     - Pokemon (HeartGold, White, Platinum, Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky, Ranger)
     - Fire Emblem:  Shadow Dragon

     - S4 League
     - Battle of the Immortals

     - Team Fortress 2
     - Call of Duty (Modern Warfare 2)

     - Spyro
     - Final Fantasy (VII, VIII
     - Legend of the Dragoon
     - Crash Bandicoot:  Warped"

3)  Don't Be a Dick

"I would prefer to play a game with inexperienced people who want to play than experienced people who act like dicks.  Just don't be a dick when I'm on your team."

2)  A Love for Music

"I love music, especially Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, Avenged Sevenfold, and Linkin Park.  If you have any music from them that you think I don't have, send it right away, please."

1)  When Games Throw You Lemons...

"Shove them into your grenade launchers and shoot them right back.  If people are complaining about your style of gameplay, but you're still making points, then that usually means that you're doing something right.  Camping in a corner?  Keep camping if that's where your points are coming from.  Using the infamous SkarmBliss or Ferrocent combo?  If it's working nicely on your team, keep using them.  Whatever style you play your games, as long as it works, use it.  Do whatever it takes to win (excluding hacking, just to keep you from getting banned.)  So, don't expect me to play by your rules of 'No camping' or 'No SkarmBliss.'  I'll play by my own rules, thank you."

5)  A Bit #Bi-polar Winning?

"I'm all over the spectrum when it comes to how calm I am, how intelligent I act, and how caring I am, at any given moment.  Sometimes I could be the nicest guy in the world, and other times I could be trolling you.  Sometimes I might be very intelligent or philosophical, and other times I'm a dumb ****.  It really depends on the situation, day and what I had for breakfast.  Usually, you have to get to know me to understand my humor and my perspective on things... which is what will happen, if you talk to me over our forums, and read my articles/watch my videos.  SO DO IT ****."

4)  Mah Faevz Gaemz

"Battlefield: Bad Company 2 recently got on the list.  I used to be a CoD maniac... but... then I developed a good taste for games (YEAH I SAID IT).  World of Warcraft is definitely pretty fun.  I got the trial, and I have a feeling that if I buy it, that I will simply fall in love with it.  The Pogeymanz (**** yussss) are amazing, started off in gen 3, but went back and played Gen 1 and 2.  I even got competitive in Gen 4, and I will most likely get competitive for Gen 5 once Grey comes out, loving B/W so far!!  Basically most 3rd person platformers/actions mascots for the PlayStation 2"

3)  My Ever-So-Important Opinion on YouTube's Gaming Community

"I tend to listen to more... unique commentators.  I don't like when people just talk about what's happening on the screen... I can see that!!  Talk about something interesting, even if it's an in-depth look at the game (like NextGen Tactics does), or philosophy, or just a funny story.  I like originality.  My favorite commentators are Hutch, Seananners, SSoHPKC, ObviouslyJesus, PvtJ8ker, and (when he is doing a game I enjoy) Chuggaaconroy.  I will try my damnedest to bring good gameplay, with uniqu, funny, and/or intelligent commentary."

2)  I IZ R ARTIST?!

"I'm certainly no artist, but I made all the logo art, and background art, and did all the design and artistic work for DMA to prepare it for launch. Andrew (a friend of mine,) did the YouTube page though, and he's a much better artist than me. So you can thank us, copliment us, or call us total losers on the forums. ...speaking of forums..."

1)  PLZ TALK 2 ME

"I LOVE FORUMS!!  Granted, I don't post at many of them, mainly CyberKong.net, GamesRadar.com, and SSoHPKC.com (and occasionally G4TV.com).  I will actively post comments on all articles and videos, and in the forums if I see any intelligent discussion going on.  Talk to me!!  I don't bite much, only ****..."

Svetlin/MegaShortFuze

1)  What am?

"I'm a 17 year old, really easily irritable dude from Eastern Europe, who just so happens to not be a stereotype.  i mostly devote my time to the vidergamz, but somehow still manage to keep in shape through what I can only describe as magic.  I should be merging with my gaming chair, yet I defy the laws of fatness.  I'm also extremely confident in myself to the point of narcissism.  I don't give in to peer pressure and as a result I sometimes think I'm above everything.  Thankfully, I have a firm grasp on reality, so that saves me from becoming a total dick.  Hooray me."

2)  Gaming

"Basically all over the spectrum.  I gave up on CoD after just two games, and listening to a lot of podcasts brings obscure games to my attention.  I have the amazing ability to love mediocre games.  As such, I have not played Vanquish or Red Dead, yet I have completed 50 Cent Blood on the Sand, The Force Unleased, and Duke Nukem forever.  This superpower comes in handy on teh Youtubez, but more on that later.  I do enjoy big releases, but something just keeps drawing me into crappy games.  My favourite game of all time is Prince of Persia:  Warrior Within, and I'll defend this thing even if I have to engage someone in Kombat."

3)  Ah, YouTube

"I started a channel about five months ago and it's turning out quite well.  I already managed to secure a spot in Machinima Sports (Pro tip:  It's a wasteland) and now I have my sights set on respawn.  I refuse to post Call of Duty, since I find that it's drab and boring at this point.  I do watch CoD commentators such as Xcal, Blame Truth, Hutch, the Nannerman, but only because they are great people.  On my own channel, I'm trying to bring back interesting gameplay as well as good commentary.  True, the beginnings were horrible (search for Let's Play 50 Cent Blood on the Sand Part 1 and look for the video without a custom thumbnail belonging to my former self - Player Zero.  It's an endurance test), but improvement has been made.  Being a gigantic nerd, I can ramble on and on about the most random of media related things, and the few people that follow me seem to like it, so... yeah."

4)  The Pornmaster

"I am the world's leading expert on pornography.  It being at ready disposal here in Old country, I have honed my skills to levels beyond human comprehension.  A wealth of useless adult information is stored within my cerebral cortex and one time, I even put it to the test.  A friend of mine started playing random clips on his computer and I had to guess where they were from.  Not only did I do that, I could name the starlet, the series and the release date.
"Anyone who wants to challenge me to a ****-off is welcome to try.  The victory conditions are simple:  when you do lose, you must hand over the kinky side of your soul.
"Note:  This is meant to be entertaining.  The information displayed is, however, 100% true."

5)  First Thing that Came to My Mind

"You know what's a really bad movie?  From Paris With Love, starring john Travolta and a greasy mother fucker.  The whole movie could be condensed to that one scene where old Travolta kills everyone in a building within thirty seconds.  I was expecting the 25 Killstreak icon to pop up after he was done.  Speaking of killstreaks, does anyone still give half of a crap about MW3?  It's the same damn game as it's idiotic predecessor, only it lacks snowmobiles.  Instead, we get God's rubber boat of wave jumping blazing across the bay of timely explosions.  you know what else has explosions?  Transformers, which is equally as terrible.  If I wanted a car **** and cardboard cutouts instead of human beings, I'd play NFS Undercover.  Which is also terrible.  Seriously, how can you drown the road in vaseline, make the Sun a stalker, code the cars to handle like a broomstick on heroine and still have a decent amount of people online to this day?  How can a person be such a glutton for punishment?  And speaking of BDSM..."
